![]() A view of Delhi's IGIA domestic Terminal IB. IGIA (Indira Gandhi International Airport), India's second busiest airport, handled 400 flights a day in August 2005 (500+ flights presently). The International terminal is located at the other end of the airport and although the terminal building is almost 20 years old, has now considerably improved in terms of facilities and arrival procedures. But an expansion of the terminal is definitely needed to cater to the rapidly increasing passenger volumes. The international terminal handled, on an average, 122 international arrivals and departures and almost 14 500 passengers per day in August 2005. The domestic terminals, especially the 1B-terminal, are cramped and operating well beyond their designed capacities. |
